Notes on accommodation
Tennis racquets and a table tennis set are provided, to enable our guests to make full use of the adjacent leisure facilities, as well as a selection of books, CDs, DVDs, cards and board games. The apartment is suitable for both children and the elderly, being well appointed, fully heated and air-conditioned throughout. All the Oasis Parque leisure facilities are within 1 min walk of our apartment (access cards provided), whilst this exclusive property is ideally located for easy access to the finest golf courses and most impressive beaches and coastline on the Algarve.
Outside
Allocated off-road parking is adjacent to the property set in an elevated position within well tended gardens. Balconies to front and rear and a range of patio furniture is provided for guests to dine or simply relax alfresco (chairs, tables, large parasol and sun loungers). Front balcony offers unobstructed views to the Monchique Mountains and also many miles East beyond Portimao, offering panoramic sunrise views for early birds. Oásis Parque is enhanced by 1st class leisure facilities, including a large freeform outdoor pool (approx 25x20m), separate children’s pool, immaculate full-size heated indoor pool and spa with large jacuzzi, along with tennis courts to be enjoyed by owners and their guests with more courts planned. A tasteful café bar immediately adjacent to the leisure club, an abundance of sun loungers both around and away from the pool areas and a secure, lawned outdoor play-area for small children. Full changing facilities also in nearby leisure club.
Coast/Beach
Fabulous beaches are to be found around Alvor itself at the old fortress town of Praia do Rocha, with its abundance of waterfront activities and café bars, or lovely Prainha or Praia do Vau, all within 5km/10 mins drive away. Also within 10 mins drive are the spectacular beaches of Alvor itself & Meia Praia, which stretch for miles either side of the Riberinho Alvor estuary.
Golf
As one of Europe's prime golfing destinations with a growing number of courses, the choice is excellent. No less than nine courses are within the immediate vicinity of Oasis Parque: the adjacent world-famous Henry Cotton Championship Course at Penina, whilst the magnificent Palmares course, Alto, Vale da Pinta and Gramaco are all within 15 mins drive. All of our guests can enjoy significant discounts at the superb new Championship course at Boavista Resort, only 20 mins drive away, whilst the Golfe do Morgado, Salgados and Parque de Floresta courses can all be reached within half an hour. Tee times at all Algarve courses can be arranged prior to departure, as can car transfers etc., if required. A private locker large enough to store golf bags within the secure ground floor storage room is also available to guests wishing to bring their own equipment, if required.
Special interest holidays
Discounts can be secured exclusively for our guests with regard pleasure flights, flight training or even aircraft hire to suitably qualified pilots at the nearby Sesmarias / Montes de Alvor Airfield. Microlight flights are a popular way to view the local area, whilst the nearby mountains, coastal cliffs and warm onshore breezes provide an excellent, spectacular and easily accessible environment for paragliding. Full flying tuition is available, ranging from basic training in light aircraft to advanced aerobatic instruction.
Travel
Oásis Parque is conveniently located between Portimão, Alvor and Penina, only 5 mins drive from the main EN125 and junction 4 of the new A22 motorway, a straightforward and comfortable 40 min drive from Faro International airport. Lisbon International airport is also served by international airlines worldwide and is only 2¼ hours scenic drive from Oasis Parque. Car hire recommended to explore the many Algarve attractions. Airport transfers to and from Faro airport can be arranged on request.

The nearby picturesque fishing village of Alvor is the perfect place to spend warm evenings, exploring the quaint narrow cobbled streets teaming with excellent, good value restaurants and bars serving both local and international cuisine, whilst Alvor`s sweeping local beaches are superb, with numerous small fish restaurants open throughout the day. The tastefully refurbished Alvor harbour front has well over a dozen traditional restaurants of high quality, serving varied menus alongside wonderfully-fresh seafood specialities. Most of these establishments have outdoor terraces by the new mosaic promenade, or elevated balconies offering stunning sunset views across the Riberinho Alvor estuary and lagoon to the lights of Lagos beyond. Just 5 min drive east is the vibrant cosmopolitan town of Portimão, historically a busy, fortified port. Portimao offers lively waterfront restaurants and a variety of entertainment and shopping facilities, from excellent designer clothing to the large bustling market, whilst a stylish new marina has recently transformed the old harbour town. The historic, bustling town of Lagos and its impressive new marina is a 20 mins drive to the West and is well worth a visit, day or night. For family fun there are two large aqua parks and the Zoo Marine complex within a 20 minute drive, as well as the worlds largest `Sand City`, a unique and ever-changing attraction for all ages. The tranquil Riberinho Alvor estuary that meanders throughout the Alvor area is now an EU protected nature reserve, with horse riding and canoeing trips available throughout the year. Within walking distance of Oasis Parque are a number of friendly local bars and restaurants where you will get a warm welcome from the locals. Also within walking distance are local grocers and a large supermarket for your every day requirements. ATM Cashpoints and petrol are available in LeClerc supermarket 10 mins walk.
