Bru na Mara is a beautiful complex just outside Carna that combines
traditional design with modern comfort. The site overlooks a small harbour, and
has spectacular views of the sea, the historic Mason and St MacDara's islands,
and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Situated in the south west corner of
Connemara, the complex is an ideal location for touring and exploring Connemara
and South Mayo. Carna, which is situated in the Gaeltacht (Irish speaking
region) is an important centre for Traditional singing, music, and dancing, with
weekly sessions in neighbouring Kilkieran. There are a host of activities within
easy reach, including a number of spectacular, unspoiled white sand beaches at
Moyrus, (1.5 km) Mynish (7 km) and Callowfinish (8 km). The area is also ideal
for walking or cycling, with little traffic, stunning views, and the cleanest
air in Europe.

Bru Na Mara is 5 km South West of Carna village beside Mace Pier. Go through the village of Carna, take the first left turn after approximately 2.5 km west of Carna. At the next Y junction keep right and turn right at the next junction after approximately 300 metres. Continue down this road until you reach the house at Mace Pier.
