At the very entrance of one of the oldest imperial cities in Morocco: Fez, ‘Dar Bab el Guisa’ is situated. Right next to it at a second’s distance, two five star hotels are located, one of them Sofitel’s Palais Jamai. The three story Dar Bab el Guisa offers classic style in authentic oriental comfort, tranquility, and access to everything which can be expected of the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. An adventurous walk of several minutes leads you right into the very center of the Medina, where historic monuments such as the Qarawi’n Mosque, traditional tanneries, and charming bazaars and souqs are found all over. Upon entering Dar Bab el Guisa, a corridor leads to a spacious patio offering a comfortable and tranquil lounging and dining area for guests. Also on the ground floor are two double bedrooms, furnished in oriental character with majestic hand carved wooden doors lit by glasses of all colors, large ceiling fans and a seating area. Each one with its own bathroom in vintage tadelakt style. On the second floor, two suites are located at both ends of a corridor. Both suites accommodate smaller bedrooms and private bathrooms with their own entrance. They contain classic and elaborate furnishings, ceiling fans, and large windows looking down onto the ground floor patio. The third floor is the roof terrace. A tranquil sunny lounging and dining area, it offers beautiful views of the old medina as well as a picturesque scenery of the mountains further ahead. We offer an included breakfast, lunch and/or dinner can be requested personally, whereas drinks and other refreshments are supplied throughout the day on request. Transportation to the house is direct and very easy as it takes no more than twenty minutes from the Fez airport to the Medina entrance, where the five star hotels with their guards are situated next to Dar Bab el Guisa. The daily rate for a double room is €65.00 (breakfast included) The daily rate for a suite is € 70.00 (breakfast included) On request guests can be met or taken to the airport at a cost of 150 dirhams.
