Poulancre Holiday Homes are nestled in the heart of the Brittany countryside between Mur de Bretagne and Corlay, just a ten minute drive from “Lac de Guérlédan” Brittany’s lake.

 Mur-De-Bretagne is our closest supermarket and petrol station 7 minutes by car. From here you can sign up for activities on the lake, go horse riding, sun yourself on a beach or cycle the disused railway line, a real nature trail. Friday evening is market time with live bands playing traditional music and the locals Breton dancing.

Lac de Guérlédan consist of a stretch of water over 14km long, with the forêt of Quénécan just to the south offering hills up to 287 metres high where you will find more lakes and some well marked footpaths.  The lake itself has a good choice of water sports from Sailing and waterskiing to pedalos these can be hired by the hour, day or week at very reasonable prices. There are several free public slipways if you wish to bring your own boat.

10 minutes drive from Poulancre will see you at Abbey de Bon Repos, in a lovely setting next to the canal, there is a spectacular night time show held here in August which is not to be missed. Also here on a Sunday is an Artisans market, where everything is homemade or home-grown.

Pontivy is only 20 minutes away and has various supermarkets, good shopping, a lovely old quarter, Bowling alley and multi cinema as well as the Chateau de Rohan and weekly market.

 St.Brieuc is much bigger and busier for serious shoppers and beach worshippers!  As well as the numerous lovely beaches it has an ice-rink and is only 40 minutes away. The Beaches to the South are not much further and truly are magnificent.

This Year (2011) The Tour de France is using our local town Mur de Bretagne as an "end" stage on Tuesday 5th July.
