The setting of this villa

This newly completed phase of the popular and prestigious Secret Valley golf resort combines low density golf villas (villa is on a large 600 sq.meter plot) with the natural Cyprus terrain, achieving a feeling of welcome and comfortable openness…earth tone and rustic shaded mountain sides and valleys, miles of natural beauty fronted by unspoilt virgin beaches backed by semi-forest flora are the trademarks of Secret Valley. A recent visit to the tracts of natural wilderness to the rear of the phase allowed me to experience a range of different birds, including an owl perched on a post during midday.

The 18 hole golf course and driving range are a short drive away. The club house offers fantastic meals with an awesome view of the course, the lush green terrain and the  cobalt-red mountain face ahead.

The beach is a very short 5 minute drive away.

The resort is conveniently located just off the main motorway accessing both Paphos and Limassol.

A quick 15 minute drive takes you to Paphos , the historical and beautiful harbour overlooked by the famous ancient fort, the historical town of Saranta Kolones  and the other numerous facilities that the town has to offer. I would suggest that you rather take th old Paphos road. It is just a little longer but makes a more scenic drive through agricultural farms alongside the Mediterranean sea.

A very short 5 minute drive from the villa is Kouklia village, a small but well serviced village with its very traditional tavernas, and coffee houses (kafeneio). Mini markets and a health center are also located in the village. Enjoy a meze at Aspris Tavern. Start your trail on the Diarizos wine route which passes through the village. Numerous historical sites including the Lusignian Medieval Manor House in the  archaeological site make this an extremely interesting village. Mosaics, stones, bronze items, pottery, jewels and statues are just a few items which may be viewed. Kouklia is built where Palaipaphos (old Paphos) once stood, which was the seat of the kingdom of Paphos, once one of the most important ancient kingdoms of Cyprus and also one of the most important pilgrimage centers due to its sanctuary of Aphrodite, which may still be visited there.

Just as far is Mandria which offers something different. This agricultural sea side village has Turkish Cypriot history and influence. Enjoy your traditional souvlaki  on the village square or just have a break for greek a coffee.  Indulge in some therapy at the spa.

The world renowned five star Aphrodite Hills golf resort is located a short 5 minute drive in the opposite direction. The resort offers an 18-hole championship golf course, gourmet dinners, local facilities including pharmacy and minimarket and a spa that’s just waiting to pamper.

Continuing in the same direction on the old Paphos-Limassol road will bring you to the breathtaking site of Aphrodites Rock (Petra tou Romiou), probably the most well known and photographed site on the island. According to the islands rich mythology, this was the birthplace of Aphrodite, goddess of love and fertility.

Paphos International Airport is just a 12 minute drive.

The contrast in landscape is spectacular. The architecture combines tuscan design with Cyprus living. Elea golf course is located in Ayia Marinouda, a 15 minute drive from the villa. It will be completed towards the end of 2010 and is designed by Nick Faldo.
Its location is south facing, on a natural landscape with rugged outcrops of stone which filters down through groves of mature carob trees, wild herbs and traditional Cyprus flora. Play a round while enjoying breathtaking views to the sea.- 18 holes
The Minthis Hills golf course in Tsada is set in a tranquil valley on the grounds of a 12th century monastery (Stavros tis Minthis). Surrounded by vineyards and orchids the course has the Troodos mountain range as a backdrop. Sloping hills and valleys flow from the clubhouse which is has been designed and built around modern clean cut lines, floor to ceiling windows, grey stone work and wooden décor. The pitch roof, stone masonry and other architectural traits are reminiscent of alpine villas. The clubhouse bar and restaurant will be completed by December 2010 but a restautrant on site offers top class meals as well as refreshments. Amenities currently include putting and chipping greens as well tennis courts . The course is a 30 minute drive from the villa. – 18 holes

Less then 15 minutes drive away you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, climbing, flying, horse riding, tennis, sports centre, scuba diving, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a themepark, water park, go karting, mini golf, paint ball, boat trips, historical sites, old town of paphos including market place.

Pithari Tavern offers guests the opportunity to taste authentic island cookery and serves traditional tavern-type food in either the meze or the a la carte variation. The menu consists of a variety of Greek and Cypriot meat and fish dishes prepared in accordance with authentic recipes.

Zimi Pizza and Pasta is a traditional over the counter restaurant with a great variety of freshly made pizzas and calzones, oven-baked pasta dishes and pasta classics prepared to order, and a fresh salad bar for quick service.
Platia Coffee Shop-Ouzerie is a truly traditional Cypriot Coffee Shop serving coffee made in the utzaki and served with with lizos—the traditional Paphos delights. The coffee shop also serves traditional Middle Eastern and preserved sweets, a variety of olive and cheese pies (Cyprus and Greek style), and other local puff pastry specialties.
Gefsis Gelateria and Crêperie serves top quality Häagen Dazs ice cream, served in homemade cones of different flavours, either for seated consumption or to be sealed and taken away. Confectionary creations are also prepared along with ice cream serving such as pancakes, belgian crêpes and waffles, complete with a variety of tantalising toppings.
