Casa Antonella is 1 km far away from the highway exit 36, 2,5 Km from the beach and 7Km from the town of Varenna where you can take a ferry to Bellagio.

Lake como is 50 km long and one of the most beautiful of Europe. The climate is temperate although the tops of the mountains in winter turn white . Springtime starts in april and in summer the temperature reaches 25-30 degrees. The shores of lake Como alternate between picturesque villages leaning out on the water, they have grave-sandy, grass or rocky small beaches, pleasure harbors and large areas for watersports. Lake Como's capital is Como-town which is worth a visit for its historical buildings ( Duomo), cosy shopping centre, trendy shops, especially for all kind of silk wear . 3 times a week is market day: get your Italian fashion bargain! Food: is Italy not the place for food? You prepare italian dishes at home, but the flavour once in Italy is so different and the smell of polenta, brasato, grilled meat and fish draw you to an inviting open terrace of a restaurant , pizzeria or trattoria near the lake shore . Lugano, St. Moritz in the high alps, Lecco, Bergamo and even Venice can be done in a day trip. Any small village on the lake shore is a treasure, get out of your car, and stroll through the narrow streets, cobbled footpaths, small pleasure harbors. Have a cappuccino on the church square, and enjoy Italian life. has a strip of sandy beach, pleasure harbor, sail and surf school, a few good restaurants, small supermarket. For extensive shopping Colico ( 15km taking the highway ten minutes by car)) or Lecco ( 25 km, 20 minutes by car). The town Como (50 km), Milan(70km), Lugano ( 40 km taking the ferry in Varenna to Menaggio,) are worth a day trip and also the famous winter sport resort St. Moritz is at 90 minutes by car. The weather is very temperate on lake Como as we are sheltered from the cold winds of northern Europe and lake Como is 200 m above sea level ( over the Po valley), where in summer it can be quite warm and humid. Nothing of all that on the lakes here.
