We are also approximately 9km from the town of Locorotondo. This is known locally as the city of white wine. This to has a magnificent historical centre with many street cafés and cantinas where you can sample the local wine for which they are justly famous. Ten km in another direction from Bellavista is the very historic town of Alberobello. This is a world famous town because of the many trullo that comprise the old town, some of them 900 years old. Alberobello is protected as a Unesco Heritage Site of Special Interest and caters for every tourist’s tastes, with many cantinas and restaurants, cafés and street markets. Castellana, which is about 20km from Bellavista, boasts some fabulous underground grottos stretching up to 3km in length. Guided tours are available with English, German, and French speaking guides. The fabulous Adriatic coastline with its sandy beaches and clear waters is only a 25 minute drive away. There is plenty to do within a short distance of Bellavista or you can just relax in the peaceful surroundings sit on the terrace, read, paint, or just watch the sun going down over the horizon. Also on the property is a large fruit orchard with figs, cherries, almonds, walnuts, plums, peaches, apples, pears, all for your enjoyment when they are in season.
