Saint-Cyprien (French for Saint Cyprian) is a commune of the Dordogne département in the Aquitaine region in France. It serves as the seat of the canton of Saint-Cyprien. It is the most populated commune in the canton. The Dordogne is a region of South West France Between the Loire valley and the High Pyrénées named after the river that runs through it. However, locally it is known as the Périgord. This dates back to the time when the area was inhabited by the Gauls.
