A little south of Torrevieja is an area known as the Orihuela Costa, 16km of coastline with some

excellent beaches, golf courses and facilities, this area has an even greater percentage of foreign residents

and includes the resorts of Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor.

The huge Friday street market in Torrevieja is the largest in the region, with around 1,200 stalls, and this

is a great place to stock up on gifts and fresh locally grown produce.

The Aqua Splash Park (Aquopolis) is a popular destination for the kids, and this is open from

June to September each year.

On the opposite side of the N332 from the water park, is the well known Carrefour hypermarket,

and beside this is the new Habaneras shopping centre, the cinema and the bowling alley.

The most popular area of Torrevieja is the promenade and marina area, and here you will find

a great selection of bars, shops and restaurants together with a daily craft market and an excellent funfair.

In the evenings, thousands of people choose to simply stroll along the promenade and enjoy the

cooling sea breeze, perhaps stopping for a delicious ice-cream in one of the many

Helados (ice-cream parlours).

Torrevieja enjoys a fantastic, mild Mediterranean climate and has been named by WHO (World Health Organisation),

as one of the healthiest places on earth to live.
