Lovely 2 storey brick home set in a 1 acre hillside garden with winding paths, a pond and a lyre bird nest in the fern gully. The house has luxury furnishings, double glazing and large surrounding deck that is in the tree canopy. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, reverse cycle a/c, bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and a single bed (extra single mattress available) opening to deck, and bedroom 3 downstairs has two single beds (it can be joined to form queen size bed). There is also a double sofa bed in lounge. There is an upstairs bathroom with shower over spa bath and WC and also a downstairs bathroom with shower over bath and WC (ensuite to bedroom). There is a large lounge with open fire and three sofas, an adjoining lounge with 2 more sofas, large screen LCD HDTV, DVD, video, stereo/tuner, games, books, Coonara wood-fired heater. Further to this, there is a large study off lounge room. There is also a large double carport/garage. Towels and linen are included and the house is cleaned and towels and linen are changed weekly.Please note that there are 10 stairs from the car port to front door but there is a path that can be used instead of the stairs. The house is two storey but the internal stairs are not steep. The house has a large deck overlooking the garden with deck chairs, a portable gas barbeque and an outdoor teak table with six chairs on the ground floor deck. There is also an upstairs deck leading off the second bedroom. There are many winding paths and 2 park benches in the garden. |

The attractive village of Marysville is a just 5 minute walk down the hill. It is famous for its 1930s guest houses close to the Steavenson Falls and the Yarra Ranges State Forest which contain some of the largest mountain ash trees in Victoria. There are well signposted walking tracks close to the house and others a few minutes away. Marysville is near to Lake Mountain, the cross country skiing centre of Australia. The village and surrounding area have plenty of good restaurants, as well as trout fishing in the rivers and a good golf course on the edge of the village. Marysville is 95 km from Melbourne via the famous Black Spur, a amazing road carved through a temperate rainforest. On route, you will pass the Healesville native animal Sanctuary and the Yarra Valley wineries.The nearest beaches are in Melbourne (95km).The golf course in Marysville is approximately 3km from the house. It is set beside the Steavenson River and is fairly flat. The RACV Country Club in Healesville (30km) also has an excellent golf course. Marysville is the closest town to Lake Mountain (20km), the cross country (Nordic) skiing centre of Australia. Ski hire is available in the village. The ski season is from June to September. Marysville is about 2 hours by car from Victoria's downhill ski resorts. Marysville is just 90 minutes by car from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine). The village is within easy walking distance from the house as are many bush walking trails in the State Forest. There is a twice daily bus service to Marysville from the Southern Cross Bus Station in Melbourne. |
