In the south of Northumberland, 25 miles west of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 6 miles north of Hexham and just 2 miles form Hadrian's Wall Kirkend is situated between Heavenfield and Paradise. Heavenfield is where St. Oswald camped the night before the battle of Hexham and Paradise is a beautiful spot down on the North Tyne river.

In Hexham you can do your shopping in many samll independant shops or the farmer's market as well as a selection of large supermarkets. Our local restaurants are superb and two are just 1 and 2 miles away. If you want your breakfast cooked there is a cafe 2 miles away which does excellent fries.

We are situated in an ideal place for exploring hadrian's Wall and its famous sites- Vindolanda, Housesteads, Chesters and Corbridge. Northumberland has more castles than any other county in England and these are not far away. We are 20 miles from Kielder Water, the largest reservoir in the land with its forest offering cycle rides and walks. There is so much to do here, visiting gardens, art galleries, historic buildings, museums, and your hosts will do their best to help you to find what you want for your holiday.
