Property Description

Pizzo is a beautiful seaport town, situated on a steep cliff overlooking the Gulf of Santa Eufemia. In 1973 the town was almost destroyed by an earthquake, and it suffered some damage from the same cause in 1905. It has on old Castle, in which Joachim Murat, ex-king of Naples, was shot on October 13th 1815. Pizzo is famous for its legendary ice cream, Tartufo, a large ball of ice cream filled with molten chocolate

Calabria is located in the southwest of Italy (the toe of the Italian boot) It deserves with its unbelievably rich history and culture to be more known than it is today. The nature, people, history and the traditions are what make Calabria what it is.

Lamezia Terme airport is 30km from the apartment. Direct flights from Stanstead with Ryanair. Exit airport and take the motorway A3(E45) to Reggio, leave the motorway A3 at Pizzo, take the lower entry to Pizzo town for about 2km to the Marinella Hotel.

Car hire is highly recommended. The Railway station is approximately 5mins from the Marinella development with low cost trains to Tropea, Capo Vaticano, Reggio, Pizzo, Lamezia and other mainline stations further afield.
