Property Description |
Casa Linda is a modern apartment for self-catering holidays on the first floor of the owners' house, with its own private entrances. The apartment sleeps four in two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twin beds, although there is also a sofa-bed in the sitting-room to be used for example when a brother and sister don't wish to share the twin-bedded room. For more information and pictures visit our website: www.casalinda-portugal.com The kitchen area has many appliances, including the following: Electric cooker with ceramic hob (4 rings) and oven Dishwasher (very important - so you don't spend your time at the sink!) Washing machine Fridge Toaster Coffee machine Kettle Iron & ironing board There is of course also a sink, a dining table, kitchen equipment and work surfaces.
The sitting-room Here you have a television with satellite reception of all UK free-to-air TV and radio channels, a comfortable sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table. At the other end of the sitting-room there is also a sofa-bed.
The main bedroom has superb views across the countryside to the Serra dos Candeeiros hills and National Park. Apart from the double-bed, there is also a cot available in this room, as well as a wardrobe and cupboard. The second bedroom has twin beds, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet, washbasin with cupboards, and a large mirror on the wall with shaver point.
The Garden - There is an exit from the apartment directly into the quiet, private back garden, where you find the pool and a large patio with furniture. There is also an annex containing a barbecue kitchen and bread oven. If you want a quiet holiday away from the hurly-burly of city life, this is the place to relax with a glass of something refreshing and a good book! At the front of the house there is sufficient private off-road driveway parking for several cars.

Alcobaça & the Silver Coast (see our website www.casalinda-portugal.com for more information) Please note, if the map given below shows the location of Casa Linda as being in Pataias, it is inaccurate and it won't update! If you zoom out to find Alcobaça, and then move west to find Chiqueda, Carrascal and Lagoa do Cão, you will have a better idea where it is. Casa Linda is situated about 5 km from the centre of Alcobaça, and about 20 minutes drive from the nearest beaches at Nazaré. The area is rich in natural beauty, as well as being historically very important. There is a wealth of different landscapes, caves, and historic buildings to visit. And then there are the beaches..... Nazaré: Traditional fishing port with good night-life, thriving restaurants and cafés and sandy beaches with lifeguards. São Martinho do Porto: About 25 minutes away: Beautiful sandy beaches in a shelterd, shell-shaped bay, ideal for younger children. Plenty of cafés and some restaurants. Foz do Arelho: More sandy beaches at the mouth of Obidos lagoon. Very good fish restaurants.
Towns and sights: Alcobaça monastery: 5 minutes away - the largest ecclesiastical building in Portugal, where the graves of the tragic Romeo & Juliet of Portugal (Dom Pedro & Ines de Castro) are situated - open to visitors - set in main square which is full of cafés & cake shops. Batalha monastery - 20 minutes away - contains graves of several monarchs of Portugal, including a Lancastrian queen. One of the 7 wonders of Portugal. Obidos Medieval walled town and castle, about 30 minutes away. Try the beautiful cherry liqueur served in chocolate cups! Mira d'Aire caves - about 30 minutes away - beautifull presented natural caves - guided tour and light show.
