Property Description

Riverside Cottage is a lovely detached thatched period property that is beautifully positioned in 5 acres of land. It is situated on a quiet lane on the bank of the River Dever, a tributary of the Test. There is a large private lawned garden including a swimming pool, terrace and view over a paddock with horses. The house has been refurbished but with many of the original features retained. It is bright and spacious as well as cozy.
The accommodation of Riverside Cottage consists of a large entrance hall, WC, children's snug, garden consevatory, sitting room, kitchen with adjoining conservatory dining, utility/boot room. 4 double /twin bedrooms with 2 ensuite and a separate a shower room. There is also a downstairs bedroom/study with WC. Oil fired central heating, woodburner in hall and snug TV room, open fire in sitting room, electic Aga plus combi microwave, dishwasher, washer, dryer, freezer, TV, DVD. Very child friendly with river and swimming areas fenced off and gated. There is ample off street parking. Sorry no dogs or smokers.
Bedrooms: 2 Double Bedrooms, 2 Twin Bedrooms, 1 Family Bedroom. In the low season Jan to April bedrooms may be selected and costs will reflect this please call to ask. Rooms can accommodate an extra bed on request and cot.
Bathrooms: 2 Bathrooms, 1 Shower, 1 Separate WC.
Kitchen: Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. Electric Aga in kitchen and combi microwave oven.
General: Real Fire, Central Heating, Telephone, House Linen. A housekeeper lives in a private area of grounds. They will have no contact unless requested.
Dining: There is seating for 10. The large kitchen table could take many more than 10 within kitchen conservatory (no pic) plus there is ample outside dining too.
Entertainment: Terrestrial TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. If you want to use the cottage for a party, wedding or other entertainment please call to discuss. There will be a supplement for entertainment.
Outside: There is a private pool, terrace, garden, BBQ, parking and garden furniture.
Suitability: Children are welcome, there is wheelchair access and the property is suitable for the elderly. Sorry, no pets are allowed and sorry, no smokers.

Nearest Airport: Southampton/Heathrow - 40 miles Nearest Bar/Pub: Barton Stacey - 1 mile Nearest Restaurant: Andover/Winchester - 10 miles Riverside Cottage is a hour away from London off the A303. The beautiful Test Valley around Stockbridge is worth exploring as is Winchester with its famous Cathedral. Salisbury, Romsey and the New Forest are all in reach within 30 minutes drive. Southhampton and the Hamble are within 20 minutes drive away. Riverside Cottage is in a little Hamlet called Bransbury but is close to the village of Barton Stacey with a beautiful church, post office, pub and shop. Riverside Cottage is off the A303 going west. From the M25 (or if coming from London you can go straight to the M3) take M3 to junction 8 – the A303.

High Season Rate From: £2000.00 Special winter offer: Weekend break for 8 people £800 with optional Pilates classes: x3 pilates classes 2Hr each sat am sat pm sun am. £60 per person to be paid to teacher. Selected rooms may be taken in low season (never any overlap) while still full use of whole house and grounds. Complete house rental - sleeps 8/10 - in high season.
