Gite du Calme is a traditional lime stone farmhouse/villa built in 1890. It has a 360 degree established garden with swimming pool and play area for children and private car park. A calme and peaceful location with stunning views over the Cognac vineyards. Rural yet central, just 10 minutes drive to Cognac or the Roman town of Saintes. The accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen with large kitchen dining table that seats 8 comfortably. The kitchen includes, a range oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and all accessories needed for babies. including one high chair. The lounge/salon has British TV, DVD player, stereo, PC with WiFi, Wii, reading books, games and current magazines. Three large double en-suite bedrooms. One double bedroom is on the ground floor with walk in shower. On the first floor there is a family suite, a double bedroom en-suite with an adjoining twin room for 2 children. On the first floor there is another double bedroom en-suite. There are two cots, baby bath, changing mat and toys for babies. In the garden there is a 4m trampoline, babmington, swings, baseball net and petanque and bicycles to use free of charge.

We are located just 10 minutes drive from the towns of Cognac where all the famous Cognac houses are based and the Roman town of Saintes where you will find beautiful architecture. We are located on the Charente river, for boating, fishing swimming. There is a great choice of tourist attractions to visit for all the family. Both Cognac and Saintes have golf courses. Restaurants, cafes and boutiques are in abundance. Oysters and mussels are from this region and can be bought from the daily food markets. We are just over an hours drive from three airports, Bordeaux, La Rochelle and Poitiers. The beaches at Royan are 30 minutes drive.
