The history of Villa Ambra dates back as far as 1576 and was originally a water mill. It has now been restored into an elegant private and luxury villa. Great attention and loving care is evident in every single aspect of the villa both the interiors and the garden. The villa is furnished with valuable antiques and traditional furniture, typical to the Tuscan countryside, which lend an old-world charm to the villa. At the same time, all modern conveniences are available for the use of guests. The location of the villa is extremely picturesque. It is located next to a gurgling brook, whose force was sufficient to move a giant water wheel in the days of yore. The entire area is cool and hilly. The villa is nestled among olive groves and chestnut trees. The memories of the green woods, fresh air and lush vegetation will revive your sprit every time you are caught in the humdrum of urban life.

The villa is situated on a terraced ground on three levels

Lower Level: There is a nice traditional country kitchen opening onto the garden. There is a fully equipped dining area with gas stove, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven etc. This area opens on to the outdoor shaded terrace for dining al fresco – there is a large stone table overlooking the running brook. This area has an old traditional wood oven. The ground floor also has a separate laundry room with washing machine.

Ground floor: Beginning with a very elegant entrance, this level has a living room with fireplace and an open staircase leading to the upper floor. This level which has access is from the garden has one twin bedroom with two antique double beds and one bathroom with shower.

First floor: There is a large living room with fire place, Satellite TV. The master bedroom has a canopied bed and en-suite marble tiled bathroom with tub and shower. There is another bedroom with an antique double bed, one bathroom with shower.

All around the villa one can see a lovely terraced garden full of flowers, plants and aromatic herbs. The variety of flowers here is truly a flower aficionado’s delight. The owners and the care-taker live in two nice little independent houses, within the property. The main features of this villa are privacy, beauty and charming atmosphere.

Guests can experience lovely Tuscany cuisine at the nearby trattorias and restaurants (2km - 10 km).

The house is available from Mar to Sep.The house is generally is not available for the rest of the year. On special request , it can be rented for a  minimum of  2- 3 weeks
