The town of Novigrad has existed since before roman times, and like all the towns on the Adriatic have a been influenced by Venice who ruled the region for 600 years. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, and a new marina in the town. For swimming or sunbathing the nearest beach is about 600 meters away, and you can also use the area around the town for this purpose and use all the towns amenities it has to offer. There is also a naturist beach in Karpinjan about 700 meters from the apartment. Shopping can be done in the supermarket and there is a small local market 200 meters from the apartment. The region of Istra is best known for truffles and wine, and you can also buy olive oil and grappa all across the region. The main towns of Pula, Porec, Rovinj, and Umag are all worth a visit. The coliseum in Pula is 2000 years old, along with other roman ruins and the Euphrasius Basilica in Porec, are the best known.
