Property Description

Villa du Phare is located in a quiet suburb of the bustling seaside resort of La Tranche sur Mer. It is only a 500m walk to the nearest beach and there are many other beaches stretching out from La Tranche within a 20 minute drive.

The villa sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 good sized bedrooms and would be suitable for guests with limited mobility as 2 of the bedrooms and the bathroom are located on the ground floor. There is a dining area in the front conservatory which overlooks the front garden and there is also a table & chairs on the rear patio for al fresco dining.

La Tranche is a fantastic location for water sports and has lots of entertainment for all the family throughout the summer - mostly within walking distance!

As you enter the Villa du Phare you will see the conservatory with its large dining table and chairs - a great spot for family meals. This leads into the living room with its comfy sofa and armchairs. There is a TV and french satellite channels, DVD player and stereo system. For the cooler winter months there is a log burning stove and wood is provided (an extra weekly heating charge will apply)

The kitchen is located to the side of the living room, and has everything that you would need during your stay - dishwasher, oven,gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster & coffee maker. There is also separate utility area with an extra fridge, freezer and washing machine.

In the utility area, there is also a second shower and WC.

On the ground floor there are also two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds. Each has fitted wardrobes and views across the garden. The family bathroom is located between these two bedrooms and has a full-sized bath, overhead shower, WC and hand basin.

Stairs lead up to the mezzanine where the 3rd bedroom is located. This has a double bed, wardrobe and sofa.

The garden is securely fenced off from the quiet residential road and there is parking on the drive for 2 cars.

In front of the house is an open grassed area, with built in BBQ and seating. To the rear of the villa is a patio area with a dining table & chairs and sun loungers are scattered around the garden.

A great place to unwind - and only 2 minutes walk to the beach!

In summer, La Tranche comes alive! There is a twice weekly market selling lots of good local produce and often there are summer fayres and antique markets as well. The town has many restaurants, catering for all tastes and seafood is a great speciality - with oysters and mussels freshly landed each morning.

In the evenings, the town has lots of entertainment for all ages, ranging from music & dancing in the bars, to full-blown 'Summer Shows', as well as discos and lots of organised entertainment on the beaches.

The beach at Le Phare is only a short walk from the Villa, and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach from the garden! This is a great place for water sports - with surf schools, sailing, body boarding and kite surfing all close by.

Sea fishing boats leave La Tranche every morning and there is a ferry/site seeing boat that takes you from La Tranche to La Rochelle, the ile de Ré and Fort Boyard.

Villa du Phare is located in the bustling seaside town of La Tranche sur Mer. The house is only a short walk to the fantastic sandy beach where you can sunbathe, surf, bodyboard and take long walks. The area is noted for its kilometres of cycle paths along the coast and through the pine forests.

The villa is set in a quiet residential area of the town, but is less than a 10 minute walk to the centre with its restaurants, souvenir shops, markets,cafés and entertainment.

Further inland there are many other tourist attractions - such as the Indian Forest Adventure Park, karting arenas, treasure trails through the gardens of a chateau and lots of regional fayres and markets.

During the summer months the town of La Tranche comes alive - there is entertainment laid on every evening - with musical evenings in the streets and bars and organised events on the beaches.

You will be spoilt for choice during your holiday - there is a water park, surf schools, site-seeing trips around the town, fun fairs, crazy and mini golf, as well as the fantastic theme parks of Le Puy du Fou and Futuroscope - both within 90 minutes of La Tranche.

Holidays start on a Saturday afternoon and end on Saturday morning

Cancellation policy:

A 30% deposit is payable to secure your reservation, with the remaining 70% being paid 8 weeks prior to the start date of your holiday. If your holiday is booked less than 8 weeks prior to the start date, then the full amount is payable upon reservation.

If you cancel your holiday then the 30% deposit is forfeited, and if the cancellation is within 8 weeks of your holiday, then the full balance is also lost - nless we are able to re-let your cancelled weeks - in which case we will refund your payment, less a £50 administration fee.

A 30% deposit is required to secure your reservation

Other Fees:

A security deposit of 130 Euros is also required to cover any damages to the property. This will be returned a maximum of 2 weeks after your holiday providing no damaged was caused.

Other policies:
  • No smoking is allowed inside the house
  • Pets are considered - please ask for more details
  • A heating charge of 25 Euros per week is applicable during the winter months
  • The villa must be left in the same clean and tidy condition in which it was found - otherwise a cleaning charge will be deducted from the security deposit
