Costa Del Sol

Aldea Blanca is a great holiday destination in the highly sought after Puerto Banus area of the Costa del Sol. It boasts a fantastic award winning development of privately owned apartments set in a beautifully landscaped area with lovely swimming pools.

Benalmadena is split into two sections with Benalmadena Costa, the part of most interest to the many tourists who visit this popular Costa del Sol resort every year. The resort lies 15km south west of Malaga airport between the resorts of Fuengirola and Torremolinos.

Benalmadena Costa is a purpose-built coastal resort extending 8km along the coast which climbs steeply up into mountains behind. The cable car from the coast up to the top of the mountain is a well worthwhile trip if you can stomach it, but not recommended for those with a fear of heights.

Torremolinos has thankfully long outgrown its Monty Python spam and chips image and, over recent years, has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort noted for its clean sandy beaches, unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities and nightlife available.

The enchanting village of Mijas is situated in the lowlands of the Sierra de Mijas mountain range and is surrounded by a stunning pine forest.

The village is nestled in the mountainside at 428 meters above sea level and has a population of 7,500. The nearest main town is the Spanish sea-side resort Fuengirola (8km), Malaga airport is 25 mins by car. Mijas has managed to retain much of its "white village" charm, with cobbled, narrow winding streets, dazzling whitewashed walls and breathtaking views.

Locals are often seen chatting outside their houses. In the old part of the town the streets are still cobbled whilst along the seafront runs a very pretty promenade lined with palm trees and flowers. There are some chiringuitos (beach bars) are to be found along this promenade.

Of course the great beaches of nearby Costa del Sol are what have made Malaga one of the most popular regions of Spain. However this city has much more to offer than just seaside and sunshine!

The kings' palace, Alcazaba, which was built starting in 11th century, is Malaga's most important building of the Moorish epoch. In its interior you may visit the very interesting Archaeological Museum.

Worth visiting also, are well the beautiful gardens with several fountains, and the remains of a Roman theatre.

Marbella's saying is A Way of Life and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all. It is, once again, rising to the forefront as a favourite location with the rich and famous, as well as more ordinary folk who are willing to pay just a little bit extra for southern Spain's answer to St Tropez.

Not too long ago, Marbella sharpened its image even more thanks to a considerable investment initiated by the town's colourful and controversial late mayor, Jesus Gil which resulted in a massive landscaping drive.

With average annual temperatures of 18ºC and over 300 days of sunshine per year it isn't difficult to understand why Costa del Sol is one of Europe's top holiday destinations.
